Mission

Our mission is to advance quantum materials and quantum technology in support of the National Quantum Initiative and LANL’s energy and security missions, including:

  • Research in quantum materials including strongly correlated electronic and topological materials, vortex physics, and thermal physics.
  • Research in quantum correlation phenomena to develop innovative quantum sensors and novel approaches to quantum simulations and information processing.
  • Development of quantum-based communication devices and cryptography techniques for national energy security needs.
  • Ultra-sensitive magnetic field measurements, development of highly sensitive magnetometers, system miniaturization, and novel magnetic resonance methods for fundamental research and applied science.
